Q&A w/ Johnny A-List! (#2 "Censorship")

Banned Commenter Mindy writes:

I am a student at California State University Los Angeles. I posted a comment against John Aravosis about the big girl comment. Now every internet link to my school John Aravosis has banned. We have over 20,000 students. I wonder if I should submit an article to our University Times regarding Aravosis and censorship?
Mindy, thanks for your question (which I will answer publicly due to the high frequency with which I hear it).

Guess what? No. No, you should NOT write an article about John Aravosis and "censorship," because as my loyal followers will tell you, this is MY blog and I can do whatever I want with it. And what I want is to keep my eyes on the ball. And if you don't want to be a ball-watcher like me, then you can get the hell off my blog. And if your 20,000 friends are anything like you, then they are BANNED for good reason. (Frankly, I'm surprised you had the guts to even ask that question--you seem like nothing more than a big girl yourself.)

NOTE to loyal followers: As previously stated, the much-anticipated ARAVOSISblog 2.0 will allow precision-banning. I will also be able to close entire threads--not just delete threads or delete comments one-by-one. So please bear with me just a few weeks more until that happy day arrives.

Hope that answers your question, Mindy! Everyone, send questions for Johnny A-List to aravosisblog@gmail.com! New T-Shirt coming VERY SOON--PERFECT FOR FATHER'S DAY! And don't forget to DONATE to "Send Johnny to Swim with the Orcas!!!"

Hey! It was really impressive the way you banned everyone that posted a link to that blasphemous parody site. How do you know to ban entire blocks of IP addresses to make sure that you scorth the Earth so thoroughly that no one even in the vicinity of the "incidence of dissent." I notice that the post count tends to go down after you set off your IP bomb. Is that part of the plan too?

I think it was super smart of you to ban that dumbass who had the nerve to post this:

I love that new parody blog! I wanted to start a parody of this blog a while ago when it got really ridiculous. I wanted to focus on how the blogger tends to complain about the most petty of bullshit and bans anyone who tells him about it. But that new site is much more clever and I just don't have the time for my own blog.

I mean, was that guy a loser or what? Couldn't he see that he was in an ocean of your loyal supporters without a liferaft? Hey, Johnny! I'm sending you a wave of support! Surfs up, DUDE!

FRIIIIIIIIIIISTTTTTTTT!!!!!1

OT,

Something I noticed. Kay in Maine posted here a few threads back showing support for this blog. A few days later she was stating on Americablog that the parody blogs were started by right wing trolls. What happened? My guess is the Aravosis emailed her and fed her some Kool-Aid. She is now back in the cult like a good little, well, you know, girl.

Aravosis did the same thing when the whole Sullivan debacle happened. He played good cop/bad cop by writing sickeningly sweet emails to regular posters asking them to please come back to Americablog, and stop posting on the new rival blog.

He then reported the IP address of those who were banned and started posting with the same names on the new blog to the internet providers claiming that these posters had stalked and harassed him.

I think he is one nugget short of a happy meal.

OT, same subject.

Shortly after the whole blow up, a new blog was started called Bannedtogether. Aravosis blamed a poster who was initially banned for starting the new blog. The poster used the monicker Scottfromca.

Mysteriously a really vile anti-Scottfromca blog arose. It still exists http://scottfromca.blogspot.com/

Be warned it is crude, crass, racist, and hateful towards women.

The dates on the posts go back to when the new blog bannedtogether existed.

Many suspect Aravosis was behind this. While there is no proof, I tend to agree.

And someone started posting using the monicker "Scottfromca" on websites all over the internet making statements like "I love Bush" "I hate liberals" etc.

google scottfromca and you will see some of these posts.

If Aravosis did create the scottfromca.blogspot.com blog, it gives you some insight into his true feelings about women and minorities, as well as transgendered people.

I remember seeing a few Scottfromca posts, but I never knew what the story was . . . He's a real piece of work. I'd ask what the hell his problem is, but I just don't care anymore.

Yeah - I noticed that, too.

No way! Mr. A-list requires NO medication. Hell, he IS the medicine this country needs, right now!

I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more Johnny!

Personally I don't think JA = scottfromca.
Watching scottfromca totally lose it was scary. The only time I've ever been actually frightened from reading a blog. I hope he got the help he needed.

Well I was just banned from AmericaBlog for going up against John Arivosis and his incredible self importance and daily histrionics regarding Obama and DOMA. Specifically an interview he gave CBS that was just ripe for dissection.

Apparently I'm too 'centrist' for the small cadre of militant gays there who'd rather throw bombs than actually think for a second. But honestly, i think it was the part of the CBS interview where Arivosis started talking about "gay dollars" and my response with a Tim Curry faced Dollar Bill that set him off.

Here's some of what I initially posted. The jerk erased the more detailed version:
Wow. So John thinks Obama needs to discuss strategy privately with him? Who the hell is John Arovosis? In this interview not only did he imply that he leads the 'gay Democratic' movement but then he thinks that Obama needs to meet privately with HIM and discuss the game plan with him? I think his blogging has gotten to his head.

I posted on one of the AmericaBlog posts yesterday that if Barney Frank went into a meeting with Obama with one position and then came out completely turned around, then perhaps Frank wasn't "betraying" gays as John so histrionically asserted, perhaps Obama PRIVATELY let Frank in on what the game plan is. Of course if you go against the few yet vocal drama queens of AmericaBlog, you're pilloried for it.

Funny how today I see this interview where John is saying THE SAME GODDAMN THING I SAID about Frank!! Only he's pissed that Obama holds a United States Congressman in higher esteem than he does a shrill blogger.

JUN19
oh yeah, and then this one...
All I know is that I'm going to have to consider any future posts by John about how terrible his Blue Cross insurance is and how he only gets half a months supply of medication, as parody.

After all, it's gay first, health care reform (for gays and everyone else) a increasingly distant second.
and before that, this...

Let me put this another way. And again, no offense to Stonewall Dems. But these are folks that sometimes, some of us, think are more Dem than they are Gay.
I think you've made the fact abundantly clear these past few days.

Tell ya what? Why don't you deny the Dems "gay dollars", campaign against them, undermine them at every turn, show them that they need to march to your timetable or else!!!... or else you'll help defeat them.

Then when president Sarah Palin is legislating homosexuality as a mental illness and an abomination again and her Justice Dept. is wiretapping John, you can bitch about that too.
:15: :15: :15: :15: :15:

Nothing out of the ordinary as far as my posting style is concerned. It's only when the subject gets turned to John Arivosis that suddenly contrary opinions need to be silenced. Plus I also commented on how anyone who ever disagrees with these few gay militants there, are immediately called homophobes or Republicans (or now "centrists" LOL!). That was actually the 1st posting deleted before the ban.

I'd call for jihad against that place but I think John Arivosis is succeeding all on his own on turning off all his straight posters as well as his reasonable ones, gay or otherwise. A shame since it's an otherwise great blog, it's just that when it comes to gay issues, the guy loses all perspective. Hence almost no coverage on health care, Iran or Sotomayor anymore, just on how eeevil a homophobe Obama is and how every gesture he offers needs to be rebuffed and the Democrats need to "paaaay" (with his "gay dollars" apparently).

I once mocked him there for him saying he was "too gay", and I guess I was right to. He gives high camp and getting the vapors a bad name. So i guess I was already on his shit list anyways. LOL!
